FAQ – Laser Cutting & Sheet Metal Services

What metals can you laser cut?

We cut aluminium, copper, brass, zinc, stainless steel, Corten and mild steel. Most materials are available from stock for fast turnaround. See our Sheet Metal Materials page for details.

What sheet thicknesses do you cut?

Our fibre laser is optimised for thin-gauge sheet between 0.5 mm and 3.0 mm, ideal for signage, architectural panels and precision components.

What is your maximum sheet size?

Up to 3000 mm × 1500 mm per sheet. We can also use part-sheets and remnants where that makes sense for prototypes or small jobs

Do you accept one-off or prototype jobs?

Yes. We specialise in one-offs, prototypes and small batch runs as well as repeat production. Learn more on our Subcontract & Trade Laser Cutting page.

Can you help reduce costs on short runs?

Where suitable, we can cut from our in-house remnant stock to avoid the cost of a full sheet. Ask us when requesting a quote.

Do you offer engraving as well as laser cutting?

Yes — engraving is available as a supporting service for projects that need it (e.g. plaques, signage and branded panels). Our primary service is laser cutting. See Engraving (Support Service) for a summary.

Can you cut custom designs and logos?

Absolutely. We regularly produce laser cut logos, letters and decorative panels for designers, architects and brands. See examples on Laser Cut Signs and our Portfolio.

What design file formats do you accept?

Preferred formats: DXF, DWG, AI. If you’re unsure, we can often convert your artwork for laser cutting. Include dimensions and material in your enquiry.

Do you provide finishing services?

Yes. Options include brushing, polishing, patinas and clear lacquer. We also offer press braking and light welding to support laser‑cut parts.

What is your typical turnaround time?

Usually 3–7 working days depending on material availability and complexity. If you have a deadline, tell us and we’ll advise what’s possible.

Where are you based and do you ship UK-wide?

We’re based in Liverpool and ship across the UK. Collection from our workshop is also available. See Contact for details.

How do I get a quote?

Send your drawing (DXF/DWG/AI), material, thickness, quantities and any finishing requirements via the form on our Laser Cutting Service page or our Contact page
